Big news
There are so many things I want to share, as there have been some major events in my life since the last time I wrote here.
First and the most important one - in July our family welcomed a new addition - little baby Karl Lucas, our second son. Since babies needs lots of love, care and attention, (as well as does Albert, our five year old), posting here about my artistic journey had to wait a bit.
When Albert was born I made a series of 365 watercolors ("Albert's series") until his first birthday. It was both a tribute to him, and a way to stay connected with my art (and stay sane!). This time I decided to create another 365 watercolor series ("Karl's series"), though this time I am so much busier so it will be a bigger challenge.
September brought a great feature of my work in an essay ("Drawing On Their Imagination") written by Edward Gomez, and published in the Art and Antiques magazine.
Edward noticed my work at the Metro Paper Art Fair, in New York in 2014, where I was showing with the Kathryn Markel Fine Arts gallery. Now, almost two years after - there is a lovely article that features my work. You can take a look at it here.
The beginning of October for me also marks the beginning of my large solo exhibition at the Lewis University. I have over thirty watercolors on view there, at the spacious Brent and Jean Wadsworth Family Gallery (it consists of three rooms!). The exhibition runs from October 1st-25th, with an artist reception on the 22nd.
